BETHLEHEM - A third Barrow County fire in about two weeks destroyed three abandoned buildings and scorched 7 to 10 Bethlehem acres Friday afternoon.
"The fire was a considerable distance off the roadway, which made it difficult to gain access to the fire," Said Lt. Scott Dakin, spokesman for the Barrow County Fire Department.
High winds rapidly spread the fire, he said.
Three Georgia Forestry units cut a fire break and Walton County firefighters helped extinguish the Tanners Bridge Road blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
On Wednesday, fire consumed a Bethlehem home and a trailer on City Pond Road in Winder burned a few days prior to that.
"At this point we have nothing to link the three fires together," Dakin said
