T.I. asks judge to let him host Thanksgiving

ATLANTA - A rapper who is on house arrest pending his trial on federal weapons charges is asking a federal judge to let him host Thanksgiving Day at his Jonesboro home.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested Oct. 13 after federal authorities say he tried to buy machine guns and silencers in a midtown Atlanta parking lot just blocks from the BET Awards, which he was to headline later that night. He was released on bond Oct. 26.

As a condition of his release, he lives in his Jonesboro residence with his girlfriend and children and is not allowed to have visitors without prior approval. He is not allowed to have more than three visitors at a time, with few exceptions.

Bear Grylls returning to TV after controversy

NEW YORK - Bear Grylls hopes his reputation as a blood-and-mud-covered adventurer hasn't been tarnished since it was revealed he wasn't totally roughing it during the previous season of his popular Discovery Channel survival series, 'Man vs. Wild.'

Last July, British television network Channel 4, which airs the show in the United Kingdom as 'Born Survivor,' confirmed that Grylls had stayed indoors during some of his expeditions, although the show had depicted him spending the night in the wilderness.

Meat Loaf scraps Europe tour due to vocal cord cyst

LONDON - Meat Loaf has canceled a European tour after developing a cyst on his vocal cords.

The 56-year-old rocker will have four to six weeks of vocal therapy before doctors decide whether he needs surgery, said a statement posted on his Web site Tuesday.

Food Network star expecting first child

LOS ANGELES - Giada De Laurentiis may have to put her weekend getaways on hold.

The star of Food Network's 'Everyday Italian' and 'Giada's Weekend Getaways' says she is expecting her first child, a baby girl, in April.

De Laurentiis, 37, announced her pregnancy on NBC's 'Today Show' on Monday. She is a contributing correspondent on the morning show.
