STATHAM - A train hit a tractor-trailer truck at 8:04 p.m. on Saturday at Atlanta Highway near Craft Road.
No one was injured in the wreck. "It appeared that the tractor-trailer driver was crossing the railroad tracks, made a right turn and got stuck," said Maj. Murray Kogod, Barrow County's chief deputy. A former truck driver stopped to help the driver disconnect the trailer from the tractor. The man sent his wife down the tracks to try to warn the train's engineer, said Lt. Scott Dakin, spokesman for the Barrow County Fire Department, but the train hit the trailer, which was carrying two one-ton pick up trucks, and flipped it over.More like this story
