LAWRENCEVILLE - The 102-year-old Brand Banking Co. opened two new branches last month in Buford and Duluth.
Debbie Hill of Buford is $2,500 richer after participating in the Family Fun Day grand opening celebration.
"We've been growing with Gwinnett for more than a century now, and these two new branches represent key locations for us," said Bartow Morgan Jr., CEO and great-great-grandson of the bank's founder.
Abby Petty was appointed manager of the Buford office at 2255 Buford Highway in the Buford Village Shopping Center across from City Hall.
Susan Davis serves as manager of the Duluth office that anchors the Sugarloaf Corporate Building at 6224 Sugarloaf Parkway near Interstate 85. The Brand Mortgage Group, a subsidiary of the bank, also shares that space.
New customers are offered the Lucky 7 CD, a certificate of deposit offering 7 percent APR on a seven-month CD, available at all locations for a limited time.
The Brand Banking Company was established in 1905 by E. M. Brand, who got his start by loaning money from the Lawrenceville Courthouse steps. The company's main office continues to operate from the historic courthouse square and maintains six locations in Buford, Duluth, Flowery Branch, Grayson, Lawrenceville and Snellville.
