Robby Everett, with the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Department, adds electrical elements to the 35-foot Douglas Fir, which is serving as Gwinnett's Christmas tree at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Lawrenceville. The tree, which was erected Thursday morning, will be watered with recycled water pulled from a dehumidifier at the courthouse in order to adhere to the current water restrictions. The official tree lighting ceremony will take place Thanksgiving night, with carriage rides, a visit from Santa and self-guided tours through the decorated courthouse starting at 5 p.m.More like this story
