Report: 3 teens caught shoplifting

BUFORD - Three teenage girls were arrested Sunday after authorities discovered they were trying to steal a large amount of clothing from a Mall of Georgia department store.

According to arrest warrants, Makiesha Maxwell, 18, Miesha Maxwell, 18, both of Covington, and Jalissa Blackwood, 17, of Upper Darby, Pa., stuffed a large amount of clothing from the JC Penney juniors department in bags while inside a dressing room.

The total amount of clothing was valued at $580.

All three were taken to the Gwinnett jail and charged with theft by shoplifting.

Man robbed at ATM

DULUTH - A Duluth man was robbed Sunday night as he used a drive-up ATM.

According to a police report, a man stepped in front of the man's car and walked up to the window as he attempted to use the machine outside the Bank of America at 3542 Satellite Blvd.

The man, armed with a silver gun, demanded the man's wallet and fled with credit cards and about $400.

The thief was described as a black man in his 20s or late 30s. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

Scream scares thief

NORCROSS - A woman's screams scared off a would-be thief Sunday night.

According to a police report, the woman living at a home on Seasons Parkway in Norcross let out the loud yell when she saw someone trying to enter her home through her bedroom window.

The woman said she did not get a good look at the person who fled from her home.
