Man shot in back while at traffic light

•NORCROSS - A Brooklyn, N.Y., man was shot in the back at the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Spalding Drive in Norcross early Monday morning.

A witness who was in a silver Lexus with the victim said their car was stopped at the intersection when a light-colored car pulled up beside them. The car, which had its windows down and four Asian men inside, suddenly sped through the red light.

The witness said he then heard three gun shots and saw a dark colored sports utility vehicle pass their car.

The witness saw "feathers" flying from the seat and realized the victim had been shot. There was no further information on the victim's health or any arrests being made.

Duluth man charged with battery

•BUFORD - A Duluth man was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct early Sunday morning after the alleged victim refused to have sex with him, a police report said.

The victim said Henry Sekou Dorley, 27, allegedly began breaking items in her Buford home and choking her after she refused his demands.

A witness heard the commotion and said she saw Dorley push and spit on the victim.

Man found shot a Norcross apartment

•NORCROSS - Police arrived at a Norcross apartment complex on May 24 to find a Decatur man with a gunshot wound lying in the arms of a man who would later be arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Hugo Arrecis, 37, first told police he was hanging out with the victim at his apartment when they decided to go get beer. When they arrived back at the High Pointe Village apartments, Arrecis said they were shot at, according to a police report.

Police didn't believe Arrecis was being truthful and asked to search his apartment. Arrecis consented and police found blood on the floor.

Arrecis then admitted he was playing with the gun when it accidentally discharged and hit the victim, the police report said. Arrecis told police he then threw the gun off the second floor.

The police report said when the gun was found, it had several pieces of pine straw placed over it as if Arrecis had tried to hide it.
