Man, 31, killed in home invasion

DULUTH - A man died after he was shot Saturday in an invasion of his Duluth home, but a woman who also lives in the home escaped, according to a Sunday news release.

Carlos Palimino, 31, of Duluth died after he was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney said in a news release. Palimino was shot during an invasion of his home on Fairway View Court, Moloney said.

The intruders bound and gagged the 20-year-old woman, but she escaped and called 911 from a neighbor's house, Moloney said.

The only description of the intruders available by press time Monday was that they were four black men, Moloney said.

"At this stage it is too early to tell if there was any type of connection between the victims and the offenders or if this was a true random act of violence," Moloney said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday. Police continue to investigate the crime.
