Payne - Allen

Sarah Margaret Payne and Samuel Wells Allen were married April 28 at the Hearn Academy in Cave Spring. The Rev. David Campbell officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of James and Carol Payne of Rome. She is working on her master's degree in speech pathology. She is employed by Floyd County Schools.

The groom is the son of Richard and Carolyn Allen of Sandy Springs, formerly of Lawrenceville. He is a graduate of Georgia State University, where he received a master's degree in sports administration. He is employed by Reinhardt College as the assistant basketball coach.

Katie Payne Evans of Dunwoody served as the bride's maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Mary Kate Wilson of Sandy Springs, Lauren Allen of Denver, Nicole Muns of Augusta, Carrie Simmons of Talking Rock and Danielle Kuomen of Canton.

Richard Allen, father of the groom, and Patrick Allen of Lawrenceville served as the groom's best men.

Groomsmen were Mark Isenhour of Daytona, Fla., Brian Lehner of Fort Myers, Fla., Trent Steinhaur of Lawrenceville, Kevin Muns of Augusta, Brent Mashburn of Calhoun, TJ Rosene of Woodstock, Ryan Dyer of Dalton and Isaac Payne of Rome.

After a honeymoon on Tybee Island, the couple now resides in Canton.

50th anniversary

Louis Edward and Marjorie J. (Dottie) Moon of Buford recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married in 1957 in Chicago.

The couple celebrated with a black tie affair, a limo ride, balloons and performances by family members.

The Moons were surrounded by their family. They have five children: Deborah Welch, Angela Moon-Meyer, Crystal Stephens, Rebecca Moon and Louis Edward Moon Jr. The couple has eight grandchildren: Jonathan, Nichole, Steven, Michael, Cinnamon, Anthony, Louis and Marjenee. They also have four great-grandchildren: Leela, Sharray, Desiree and Jack.

Louis is a retired railroad engineer and Dottie is a retired registered nurse.
