Man uses note to rob bank
•NORCROSS - A man used a note to demand money from a Norcross bank about 11 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
A white man with shoulder-length gray hair handed a note to a teller at the Regions Bank at 5935 Buford Highway, demanding money and stating he had a weapon, said Norcross Police Department spokesman Capt. Brian Harr.
Harr said the teller complied and the man left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Evidence was left behind by the man and police are working with the FBI to view surveillance video and investigate the robbery, Harr said.
Thief dismantles ATM
•NORCROSS - Bank employees discovered Sunday that someone had broken into the outside ATM at the front of the building.
According to a police report, someone opened the top of the machine the Fidelity Bank located at 3500 Holcomb Bridge Road, disassembled the surveillance camera and removed two metal cassettes containing money.
An on-scene camera possibly captured the thief's SUV leaving the area about 10:05 p.m.
Man charged with disorderly conduct
•LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville woman said someone tried to break into her home on Prestonwood Drive on Sunday morning.
When police arrived they found 42-year-old David Scott Kolar of 3146 Langley Drive in Loganville at the woman's back door shaking the handle attempting to get inside, a police report said.
When questioned by officers, Kolar said he thought the home was his. When Kolar was told it was not his home he told police he had gotten pretty drunk and high the night before and didn't remember much about how he arrived at the Lawrenceville address.
Kolar was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Drivers injured in I-85 crash
•The drivers of a car and a pickup were injured Thursday when the vehicles collided on Interstate 85 near the Gwinnett and Barrow counties line.
The drivers were transported non-emergency status to Gwinnett Medical Center, said Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Thomas Rutledge.
The pickup was pulling a large camper and travel trailer, Rutledge said. Both vehicles ended up in the center median with heavy damage. One lane of the interstate was closed due to fire equipment and debris, he said.
