The Gwinnett Goal Club held its season-ending banquet Wednesday night at North Gwinnett High School to honor the best from the 2007 soccer season.
Parkview's Blake Brettschneider was selected as the Class AAAAA boys player of the year for Gwinnett while the AAAAA girls player of the year award was a split between Marah Falle of Parkview and Samantha Au of North Gwinnett. In the AAAA to A division, the boys players of the year were Sam Arthur of Greater Atlanta Christian and Andrew Brandt of Hebron Christian. Maria Petroni of Buford was the girls player of the year in AAAA to A. The coaches of the year were: North Gwinnett's Erik Crawford (AAAAA boys), Norcross' Judas Kinchen (AAAAA girls), Hebron's James Greco (AAAA to A boys) and Buford's Marianne Cagle (AAAA to A girls). The club also selected All-County teams as well as scholar-athletes.
