Police: Speed led to crash that killed 25-year-old

SUGAR HILL - Investigators believe speed led to a single-car accident that killed a 25-year-old man Tuesday morning.

According to a Gwinnett County Police Department press release, preliminary investigations indicate Gregory Keith Jones was traveling south on Level Creek Road shortly before 1 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and his 2005 Nissan Maxima ran off the road and overturned.

The Sugar Hill man was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

According to the release, Jones was wearing his seat belt and neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be involved.

Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney said he was not available for comment on the accident.
