NORCROSS - Police are looking for a man suspected in the slaying of a 30-year-old man who was shot to death Sunday.
Officers responded to 1528 Eason Court about 3:23 a.m. to reports of shots fired, said Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney.
Moloney said when police arrived they found the body of Andre Tyrone Roderick of Norcross in the driveway.
Moloney said investigators are searching for 32-year-old Willie Lee Lumpkin Jr. who is believed to be connected to the shooting. Moloney said Lumpkin is believed to live in Lawrenceville, but investigators have not been able to find an exact address him.
"We do want to hear from the suspect and get his account of the incident," Moloney said.
Investigators have arrest warrants for Lumpkin on charges of felony murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, Moloney said.
Police believe Lumpkin and Roderick were at the Eason Court address Sunday for a birthday and Mother's Day celebration. Moloney said the two knew each other but were not related or known to be good friends.
Moloney said the two became involved in a fight that escalated into a shooting, but information concerning what led to the argument is not being released. Moloney said investigators want to hear Lumpkin's account of what happened before that information is released.
Moloney said no weapons were found at the scene of the shooting and Lumpkin is the only one believed to be armed at the time.
Police said Lumpkin is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Lumpkin's whereabouts is asked to call Gwinnett County police at 770-513-5300.
