McGee - Alverson
Elizabeth Noel McGee and Zachary Ferrell Alverson were married April 21 on Tybee Island. The Rev. Jack Boylston officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Angie and Dan Murchison of Lawrenceville, and William McGee of Stockbridge. She is attending Georgia Perimeter College and she plans to become an elementary school teacher. She is employed by the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner's Office.
The groom is the son of Eddie Alverson of Gurlie, Ala., and the late Martha Lynn Ferrell Alverson. He is employed by Strictly Lawn Business as a landscape technician.
Katie McGee of Stockbridge, sister of the bride, served as the bride's maid of honor. Olivia Payne of Lawrenceville, sister of the bride, served as a junior bridesmaid.
Courtney Oglsby of Fayetteville served as the groom's best man.
Mason McGee of Stockbridge, brother of the bride, served as a ring bearer.
After a honeymoon on Tybee Island, the couple now resides in Stockbridge. 60th anniversary
Bill and Frances Rauschenberg of Snellville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on March 22, 1947 in McDonough.
Bill Rauschenberg and Frances Braswell both attended Joe Brown Junior High and Commercial High School in Atlanta. Bill earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgia State College. He served in the Army and Air National Guard, retiring from the Air Force Reserve in 1974 after having achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. Frances is a homemaker.
The couple celebrated by reaffirming their vows at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville. A reception was given by their children: daughter, Christine Durgan and her husband, George, and son Bill Rauschenberg and his wife, Diane.
The Rauschenbergs have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
