WINDER - Auditions for the summer children's play will be held June 9 at 10 a.m. at the Barrow County Leisure Services Center on 2nd Street in Winder.
No prepared material is required, but children must be at least 6 years old. Rehearsals will be held during June and July in order to present the play at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 14. It is sponsored by the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre.
Drama camp scheduled
WINDER - Drama camp will be held for two weeks during the summer as part of the Barrow County Leisure Services Day Camp program.
Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 11 to 15 and 23 to 27. Each week of camp will end with a play being presented by the children at noon on Friday. Family and friends are welcome to come and watch their presentation.
Camp is for children ages 6 to 12 and will be limited to the first 30 children registered for each week. Registration must be completed at the Leisure Services Center on Second Street in Winder prior to the camp week. Each child will be given a drama camp T-shirt. Prices are $65 per week. If there is more than one child from a family coming to camp, the second child will be $55, and the third will be $45.

Rotary holds golf tourney
DULUTH - The Rotary Club of Duluth 2007 Golf Tournament helps the less fortunate "out of the rough."
The Rotary Club of Duluth 2007 Golf Tournament will be held May 23 at the Chateau Elan Golf Club, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The format is a four-person scramble with awards for first through third low gross, low net teams, longest drive, closest to the pin, Hole in One and more. Dance raises money
ATLANTA - Georgia's 13th annual Hoochie on the Coochie dinner dance raised $280,000 for the Nature Conservancy.
Organizers exceeded their goal by $85,000.
The group has helped protect more than 258,000 acres throughout Georgia in the past 38 years.
Breast cancer funds raised
LAWRENCEVILLE - American LubeFast is teaming up with the Atlanta Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, an event benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust, to raise funds for breast cancer research and community outreach initiatives.
During April, May and June, Atlanta-area American LubeFast locations will be taking donations for the cause. Anyone donating to the fundraiser will receive a memorial card to personalize and hang in the store.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk that will be held Oct. 12-14 in Atlanta.
