•SUWANEE - Fire authorities were unsure Wednesday what caused a house fire and gas leak from a meter at the Suwanee home.
Firefighters arrived at the home at 3839 Alexandra Oak Court shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, finding smoke and flames coming from the outside of the two-story home.
Crews worked to control the flames and leak from an outside meter.
According to a Fire Department press release, no injuries were reported, but three adults were displaced from the home.
Man charged with fleeing accident
•LILBURN - A Norcross man was arrested Sunday and charged with hitting a 75-year-old Snellville man's vehicle and driving away.
Eliberto Saldana-Galvez hit the Snellville man's Toyota Camry while driving near Killian Hill Road and Shelley Lane in Lilburn, according to a police report.
Officers were able to locate Saldana-Galvez driving a blue Ford Explorer damaged on the front passenger's side door.
Officers said the man smelled of alcohol and when asked if he had been drinking admitted to having one beer. Police found a plastic grocery bag with unopened beer bottles inside.
The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with a hit-and-run, driving under the influence and driving without a license.

•AUBURN - An Auburn police officer was hit in the left shoulder and knee by shotgun pellets while investigating an attempted suicide report.
Tim Ethridge of Auburn was arrested April 28 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, one count each of discharge of a firearm while under the influence, pointing or aiming a gun at another and five counts of simple assault.
Three Auburn police officers and two Barrow County sheriff's deputies responded to a call regarding a man with a shotgun out in the woods behind a house.
As the five officers approached the backyard, three shots were fired, police reports state. The third shot sprayed pellets that hit Auburn police Sgt. Danny Kerns and whizzed inches from two other Auburn police officers, according to police reports.
The pellets bruised Kerns' shoulder and knee, said Marie Jensen, Auburn police dispatcher. He did not miss any work.
A deputy talked Ethridge into dropping the gun, police reports state.
Ethridge remains in the Barrow County Detention Center under $41,000 bond.
Winder home invaded
•WINDER - Four people were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by strangers in their Emily Circle home May 1, police reports said.
Two men and two women told police they were watching a movie at about 1:45 a.m. when the side door to the home was kicked in. Three or four black men entered with two shotguns, a double barrel and a pump style. They tied the residents' hands and hit and kicked the men, police reports said.
The robbers took cell phones and $500, according to police reports.
As they were leaving, one of the men said, "Remember Pauldo," police reports said. One of the women told police that Pauldo is a street gang in Athens.
The men remain at large.
