DULUTH - Five years after Kelly Clarkson was voted the first "American Idol," the singer is still going strong. She'll come to Gwinnett this summer on her "My December Tour," to promote her latest album.
Clarkson will perform Aug. 28 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth. Tickets for the show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. The singer's latest single is "Never Again," which is the first release off her new album. The release date for "My December" has not yet been set, but the album is expected to be released this summer. Clarkson's previous hits include "Since U Been Gone," "Walk Away" and "Miss Independent." More than 15 million copies of her albums have been sold. When Clarkson comes to Duluth in August, she will be about two-thirds of the way through her national tour. The singer will begin her tour with an appearance at the Live Earth SOS concert at Giants Stadium in New Jersey July 7 and will finish in Las Vegas Sept. 28. Nashville-based singer Mat Kearney will open for Clarkson. His first single, "All I Need," was featured on "Grey's Anatomy" and made it to No. 94 on Billboard's top 100. In February, "Nothing Left to Lose," Kearney's second single, went to No. 41 on the Billboard chart. Tickets for the Clarkson and Kearney concert in Duluth will be available at the Gwinnett Center box office and through Ticketmaster outlets.
