Claude Ray Kerlin, age 80 of Snellville, GA, passed away May 4, 2007. He was preceded in death by his son, Bennie Ray Kerlin and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Bonds Kerlin; sisters, Vera Doss of Snellville and Boncile Duncan of Decatur; and a large extended family. Mr. Kerlin, a member of Sunrise Baptist Church, owned Kerlin's Garage on Glenwood Road for the past 44 years. Before he became owner of the garage, Mr. Kerlin was a DeKalb County Police Officer for 15 years. He was most proud of serving in WWII as a Seabee Engineer serving in Guam. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 7, 2007 at 2 pm at Wages Snellville Chapel, with Dr. David Poe and Rev. J. B. Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 8 pm at the funeral home. Tom M.
