Students charged with shoplifting

•LAWRENCEVILLE - Two Grayson High School students were arrested last week and charged with shoplifting.

According to a police report, 17-year-old Orlando Clark Jr. of Loganville and 17-year-old Rammell D. Lewis of Lawrenceville were seen by Discover Mills loss-prevention officers stuffing T-shirts under their shirts and leaving the Neiman Marcus store without paying April 27.

The two were confronted by an officer but fled outside of the mall, the report said. The two were caught by mall security and then taken to the Gwinnett County jail by police.

The shirts were worth $42 each.

Two men jailed for jaywalking

•NORCROSS - Two people were arrested Wednesday after they were seen jaywalking by police officers.

Miguel Angel Perez-Gomez, 29, was confronted by an officer shortly before 7 p.m. after he was seen illegally crossing near South Norcross Tucker and Graves roads in Norcross, according to a police report.

Angela Arias-Garcia, 39, was also seen by police illegally crossing the road near the same intersection Wednesday night, the report said.

Both were charged with jaywalking and taken to the Gwinnett County jail.
