Center helps with pain in the neck

DACULA - Is there a crick in your neck or twinge in your spine? A new health center in Dacula may offer some relief.

Although the Upper Cervical Health Centers of America opened a few weeks ago, a grand opening dinner was held at the Hamilton Mill Christian Church in Dacula on Tuesday to celebrate the new center and educate the community about upper cervical care.

Dr. Nick Tedder, who practices at the Dacula center located at 3635 Braselton Highway, Suite B-2, said he offers a different approach to healing, offering helping hands to those with conditions such as allergies, arthritis, headaches, even epilepsy and seizures.

Similar to chiropractics, through aligning the neck and focusing mostly on the relationship between the first two bones of the neck (the atlas and axis) and the brain stem, Tedder said he can cure most any ailment.

"We help more than just typical chiropractics would," Tedder said. "I've helped people with multiple sclerosis, cancer, Parkinson's and ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). The corrective procedures we do help a lot of people."

Using digital technologies along with realignment of the upper cervical spine, Tedder said he knows when and where to adjust.

"With chiropractics patients may get better for a little while," Tedder said. "With this technique, I'm able to make a permanent correction for a life time."

Tedder said his patients often come in with ailments and pain, but the doctor said those looking to try upper cervical care don't have to have a particular problem to benefit from upper cervical adjustments and care.

"We see those who are sick and also those who are just looking for a better quality of life, like athletes who want to perfect their performance," Tedder said.

The care is often covered by insurance and Medicare, Tedder said.

Upper Cervical Health Centers of America is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
