Mrs. Mary Bess Cain Burel, age 92, of Buford, GA, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Gordon L. Burel; parents, Hoyt and Era Davis Cain; sister, Alice Ruth Adams; and brother, Forest Cain. She is survived by: Daughter: Janice Burel Davis, Buford, GA; Son: Gordon Larry and Patti Burel, Gainesville, GA; Grandchildren: Kathy and Jeff Burnette, Sugar Hill, GA, Donna Davis Jones and husband, Ricky, Duluth, GA, John Lee Davis, Buford, GA, Paul and Susan Burel Porter, Gainesville, GA, Paul and Sandy Burel; Great Grandchildren: Daniel Lee Peevy, Davis Jones, Adam Jones, Will Jones, Steven Jones, John Porter, Will Burel, Sarah Burel; Sister and Brother-in-Law: Mrs. Edith Cain Dozier and Dr. C. A. Dozier, Brewton, AL; Sisters-in-Law: Pauline Cain, Dunwoody, GA, Runnell Burel Turner, Conyers, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Mrs. Burel was born June 16, 1914 in Gwinnett County, GA. She was a 1931 graduate of Buford High School. She and her husband operated Burel's Grocery Store in Buford for a long time. She was a member of the Stonehedge Garden Club, an avid bridge player, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buford. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. McHoyt Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Buford, GA. Mr. Billy Max Horton, age 74 of Cumming, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007. Billy was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church where he was a deacon and licensed minister. He retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company after 37 years of service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Veterans Alliance. He was a 40 year mason and member of the Panthersville Lodge #543 F&AM. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a friend to many. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ann Odom Horton of Cumming; children, Connie and Jim Tiller of Lawrenceville, Craig and Renee Horton of Griffin and Cindy and Trey Wesley of Cumming; Grandsons, Derek and Gary Tiller, Kurt and Kyle Horton and Reid Wesley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Bonnie Horton, and Frank and Wilma Horton all of Bremen; sister Jean Richardson of Fayetteville; sister-in-law Ruby Horton of Carrollton and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Tony Allen and Rev. Randall Sullens officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. William H. "Bill" Hill, age 49 of Lawrenceville, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007. He was a local Electrical Contractor. He loved fishing in Lake Lanier. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Selser; daughters, Brittany Hill of Dacula and Spencer Hill of Duluth, their mother, Jill Hill of Duluth; parents, Hoyet & Wanda Hill of Clinton, TN; brother and sister in law, Robert & Kellye Hill of Lilburn and their children, Micheil, Stephen-Brock, Evan, and Lexye.
