•LAWRENCEVILLE - The manager of Wilbur's Barbecue in Lawrenceville told police he was unconscious during most of a robbery that occurred at the restaurant Sunday.

He was taking out the garbage at the 2349 Lawrenceville Highway restaurant when two young white men pushed him into the building and hit him in the head, according to a police report.

Billy Claude Garmon, age 66 of Lawrenceville, GA, died March 21, 2007, after a 11 year battle with Lymphoma Cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma (Higgins) and Bill Mathis Garmon and brother, Henry Garmon. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cherryl Garmon; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Carter Cronan; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Dena Garmon, all of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Cory Cronan and Jordan Garmon; several aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters (in-law). Mr. Garmon was a member of Mt. View Baptist Tabernacle Church and teacher of the Senior Sunday School Class. He was retired from Roadway Express, Inc. after 30 years of service. The Gwinnett Gladiators have had no coach in the team's history other than Jeff Pyle, a three-time ECHL All-Star selection behind the bench. The 48-year-old made the transition when the franchise relocated from Mobile, Ala., to Gwinnett in 2003. Prior to his four seasons with the Mysticks, Pyle spent nearly a decade playing and coaching in Germany.
