Prep roundup: Norcross girls knock off No. 8 North

NORCROSS - Natalie Clarke scored Norcross' only goal to help top No. 8 North Gwinnett 1-0 on Friday.

Nicki Dykes had the assist while Brianna Meeks registered the shut out in goal with nine saves for the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-0).

LILBURN - Chelsea Catlin and Erin Tate each scored three goals for Brookwood to help the Broncos shut out Berkmar 11-0 on Friday.

Kelli McLane, Michelle Osborn, Emily Hughes, Ashley Gray and Carolann Simpson each scored a goal for Brookwood (10-0-1, 3-0 Regin 8-AAAAA).

Jessica English registered the shut out in goal.

LILBURN - Marah Falle had two goals and two assists to help the Parkview Panthers beat the Meadowcreek Mustangs 13-0 on Friday night.

Megan Geiger and Kansas Bayly each had two goals and one assist while Morgan Kammer scored two goals. Kim Spence, Caroline Kilday, Morgan Mitchell, Emily Davis and Abby Batchelor each scored a goal for Parkview (9-0, 3-0).

BUFORD - Catherine Roadcap scored three goals to help the Wolves defeat Ogelthorpe County on Friday night.

Catherine Zickos and Haley Holderfield each scored two goals while Sarah Eck and Jacey Chandler each scored one for Buford (11-1, 5-0).

CUMMING - Jaci Carithers scored the only goal for Mill Creek as the Hawks shut out North Forsyth 1-0 on Friday.

Jennifer Vincent registered the shut out for the Hawks (3-3-1, 1-2).

DACULA - Dacula beat Winder Barrow 4-3 in penalty kicks after the two teams went scoreless through overtime on Friday.

Bryna Lamb, Sasha Alonzon, Lexie Vassell and Samantha Harrison each had a penalty kick for Dacula (6-3, 3-0).

Providence 1

ATLANTA - Emily Bougas scored a goal for Providence but the Stars fell to Holy Innocents' 3-1 on Friday.

Providence is now 6-1.

Jamie Deal registered the shut out for the Broncos as their record improved to 8-3 and 3-0 in region.

LILBURN - Chris Thomas had three goals and one assist to help the Spartans defeat W.D. Mohammed 13-0 on Friday.

Alex Powell scored three goals while Aldyn Royes and Allen Williams scored two goals for GAC. Sam Arthur had a goal and two assists while Peter Lobona had one goal and one assist.

Daniel Valdez added a goal while Thomas Marro had three assists for GAC. Matt Carroll and Richard Klemm each had an assist for GAC while John Max Bolling, David Davis and Matt Wolfe each played goal for the Spartans(8-2-0, 2-0-0).

LILBURN - Kofi Gywau scored two goals for Parkview to help the Panthers top the Mustangs 3-2 on Friday.

Blake Brettschneider scored one goal while Daniel Bullock and John Davis each registered two saves for Parkview (9-1, 3-0).

NORCROSS - Tyler Gutzman and Matt Young each scored a goal to help North Gwinnett top Norcross 2-1 on Friday.

Karl Lane was the goal keeper for North as its record improves to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in region.

CUMMING - Arturo Reyes had a goal and an assist to help Duluth top South Forsyth 4-3 in overtime on Friday.

D.J. Rees, Andreu Harris and Patrick Bentley each scored a goal for Duluth while Juan Quinetero and Kevin Rodriguez had an assist for Duluth (7-2).

Ogelthorpe County 1

BUFORD - The Buford Wolves won 2-1 over Ogelthorpe County after penalty kicks on Friday.

Tony Arroy scored a goal for Buford as the Wolves improve to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in region.

CUMMING - Mill Creek lost 1-0 against North Forsyth in penalty kicks on Friday.

Mill Creek is now 3-4-1 for the year.

Chattanooga Christian 2

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Providence boys topped Chattanooga Christian (Tenn.) 5-2 at Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee on Friday.

Cuyler Kitts, Tyler Hoyt, Jonathan Hill, Jay Collins and Nathan Brannen each scored a goal for Providence to improve its record to 7-2-1.

North Florida Christian 9

VALDOSTA - Chase Hawkins registered the win for Brookwood after pitching four and 2/3 innings, striking out four, and giving up eight runs and four walks to help the Broncos defeat North Florida Christian 13-9 on Friday in Valdosta.

Offensively Hawkins was 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Ryan Lewis went 3-for-4. Tryoy Snitker was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Seth Adkins was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Broncos (6-0).

GAC 14, Berkmar 4

LILBURN - Dillon Geraghty registered the win after striking out four for GAC to help the Spartans beat Berkmar 14-4 in five innings on Friday.

Mark Edwards went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs while Landon Bennett hit a two run home run for GAC.

The Spartans are now 4-3 for the year.

Sprayberry 6, South 3

MARIETTA - Lance Whatley was 2-for-4 with a single, triple and an RBI for South but the Comets fell to Sprayberry 6-3 on Friday.

Kyle Orr went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs as South's record improves to 3-3 for the year.

Dacula 5, Salem 3

CONYERS - Travis Blackburn (2-1) pitched five innings, gave up three runs and struck out six to help Dacula top Salem 5-3 on Friday.

Offensively Blackburn went 1-for-2 with an RBI while Blair Frost was 2-for-3 for Dacula.

Reese Pope pitched two innings giving up only one hit to register his third save and to help Dacula improve its record to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in region 8-AAAA.

North 6, Centennial 2

SUWANEE - Josh Blum (2-0) pitched a complete game throwing 78 pitches, striking out two, giving up two unearned runs and six hits to help North Gwinnett top Centennial 6-2 on Friday night.

Nick McCouch went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Mitch Rider had an RBI and a double as North improves its record to 5-0.

Collins Hill 4,

Camden County 3

KINGSLAND - Justice French had 10 strikeouts and was 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Collins Hill to a 4-3 win over Camden County on Friday.

French went seven innings on the mound, allowing four and three runs (none of them earned) to improve to 3-0.

French also had the game winning RBI for the Eagles (6-1).

Michael Young was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
