Nickelback concert postponed; Martin added to lineup

DULUTH - Rock band Nickelback postponed its scheduled Friday concert at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, but the group is set to make up the concert next week.

Lead singer and guitarist Chad Kroeger was suffering from vocal strain after a concert in Charleston, S.C., and decided to postpone the show Friday morning.

"Atlanta is one of our favorite places to go play. The fans are especially good to us here and we want to make sure they get a full Nickelback show," Kroeger said in a press release.

The show has been rescheduled for Thursday at the Gwinnett Arena. Opener Three Days Grace is still scheduled to appear. As of press time, it hadn't been announced whether Breaking Benjamin was still scheduled to perform. Refunds for the concert are available at point of purchase.

The arena also announced Friday that Latin pop star Ricky Martin, of "Livin' la Vida Loca" fame, will perform at the Duluth venue at 7:30 p.m. May 4. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today.
