Gwinnett Gladiators rookie defenseman Jamie Milam was named the ECHL's Rookie of the Month for February on Wednesday.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Milam had three goals, 10 assists, 13 points and a plus-minus rating of plus-6 to help the Gladiators to a 7-4-1 record and remain in the race for the top spot in the ECHL's South Division.
Milam recorded four multiple-point games for the Gladiators and tied a career high, posting three points and was a plus five for the Gladiators in a 7-4 win at Florida on Valentine's Day.
Milam is the second Gladiator to receive the honor this season, joining Colton Fretter, who was Rookie of the Month for October.
The Lake Orion, Mich., native is second among ECHL defensemen with 17 goals and 10 power play goals. Milam is tied for eighth with 36 points in 54 games and is tied for second among ECHL rookies with 10 power play goals.
The Gladiators continue their quest back to the Kelly Cup Finals tonight when they play at Columbia at 7:05 p.m.
