LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County Drug Task Force investigators identified four more marijuana grow houses over the weekend.
This weekend's discovery brings the total of grow houses found in the county since Feb. 26 to eight. In a statement released Monday, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney identified four newly uncovered grow houses across Gwinnett County - 4552 Mulberry Lane in Auburn, 4130 Plantation Mill Drive in Buford, 920 Chimney Trace and 571 Waterstone Drive, both in Lawrenceville. Moloney said he did not have information as to whether any arrests were made in connection to the houses, how much marijuana police found or exactly when the most recent four discoveries were made. Gwinnett County investigators have seized more than $8.2 million worth of marijuana since Feb. 26, Moloney said. Each home was equipped with special lighting timed to replicate annual seasons, water recycling systems, modified ventilation systems and advanced hydroponics systems that allowed the plants to grow without soil. Most of the grow houses discovered were ranch-style homes with full basements.More like this story
