Ivan Rupert Hortman, age 69 of St. Simons Island, Georgia, died Thursday, March 1, 2007. Masonic Graveside Services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens, Moultrie, Georgia. Rev. Pete Grice and L.C. Givens will officiate. Mr. Hortman lived in Gwinnett County for 48 years and recently retired to St. Simons Island, Georgia. He is survived by: Wife: Ree McGee Hortman, St. Simons Island; Children: Kenneth Rupert & Angela Hall Hortman, Dacula, Tony Randall & Shelba Givens Hortman, Homer, Regina Ann & Timothy Peevy, Dacula; Grandchildren: Benjamin Rupert Hortman, Brandon Tony Hortman, Britney Jean Hortman, Rhiannon Leigh & Mike Herren, Jessica Ann Peevy, Daniel Timothy Peevy; Mother: Dorothy Ellen Bridwell Hortman, Winder; Brothers: Danny David Hortman, Dacula, Darrell Lyndon Hortman, Carnesville; Sisters: Dorothy Lee Newton, Oak Harbor, WA, Jackie Hortman Lee, Henderson, NC. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Cobb Funeral Chapel, Moultrie, Georgia, 229-985-3704.
