DULUTH - The Metro Atlanta Homebuyers Fair will be held at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth on Saturday to educate Georgians on the hombuying process and promote statewide homeownership.
The event will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
More than 70 professional participants will be at the fair to help first-time homebuyers make their dream of owning a home come true.
Attendees can learn about affordable housing and various homeownership programs, fixing and preventing credit problems, qualifying for a mortgage and learning about down-payment assistance programs.
Participants will include representatives from Georgia's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Housing Administration, real estate professionals, mortgage lenders and bankers, HUD-approved counseling agencies, nonprofit community development groups and representatives from various housing authorities in metro Atlanta.
Merchant vendors like the Home Depot will also be at the fair to display innovative home products and decor ideas to the aspiring homebuyers.
