Mother charged with cruelty to children

•DACULA - A Dacula woman was arrested at a tanning salon Monday after she allegedly left her child inside her vehicle when she went in to tan.

According to an arrest warrant, Crystal Britt, 20, of 2827 Evonshire Lane left her 3-month-old boy unattended in a vehicle while she went into the Sun City Tan on Grayson Highway and tanned for 15 minutes.

Britt was arrested and released from the Gwinnett County Jail after paying her $3,400 bond.

Customer throws food at manager

•SNELLVILLE - A disgruntled McDonald's customer got revenge Sunday by throwing her food in the manager's face, according to a police report.

A woman driving a brown Infinity drove up to the take-out window about 10 a.m. She wasn't happy with the meal she received and requested another.

Because the second meal was also unsatisfactory, she threw it in the manager's face before driving off.

According to the manager of the fast-food restaurant located at 3460 Centerville Highway, the woman said she would be back to get revenge.

Hot dog vandal targets cars

•LILBURN - A Lilburn man said someone vandalized two of his vehicles Sunday using hot dogs.

According to a police report, two vehicles parked outside the man's home on Bullock Place in Lilburn had been covered with hot dogs, leaving a white, oily residue that would not come off.

The owner of the vehicles said he believed it would cost about $300 to have the oily substance removed from each vehicle.

The man said he does not know who could have vandalized his vehicles.

Man jumps through window to evade shooter

•NORCROSS - A 24-year-old Norcross man said he was forced to jump through a window when a man started shooting.

The man said he was visiting a friend at the Orion Apartments at 8307 Dunleaf Arc Way when another man there started shooting, a police report said.

The man said he jumped through a window on the third floor to escape. The man injured his arms when he went through the glass and requested medical help, but refused to provide officers with his friend's name or what caused the man to start shooting.

Drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.

Men found with drugs at lake

•GAINESVILLE - Two men were arrested Sunday afternoon at Lake Lanier when police found them with a bag containing marijuana.

According to an arrest warrant, Department of Natural Resources officers stopped John Richard Olson, 21, of Eagan, Minn., and Alex Ryan Sandrock, 21, of Apple Valley, Minn., when they noticed the men floating on a raft and saw a plastic bag float up next to the men.

Officers found marijuana inside the bag and a pipe for smoking the drugs.

Both were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce) and possession of drug-related objects. Both were released from the Gwinnett County Jail after posting $1,300 bond each.
