WINDER - A proposed agreement in which the Barrow and Oconee fire departments would answer certain calls together was tabled for one month.
Under the proposal, a one- to two-mile boundary line would be set up within both Barrow and Oconee near the county line. If a structural fire broke out within that line, both fire departments would automatically respond. Barrow commissioners approved the following rezonings in Tuesday's meeting: • From manufacturing to residential, 5.31 acres at Patrick Mill Road and Industrial Parkway. The acreage will join a 104-acre mixed-use residential development. • From manufacturing to commercial, 1.5 acres at 681 Bankhead Highway that allows the owner to lease part of the property as a commercial venue.More like this story
