LAWRENCEVILLE - An engine failed on a plane landing at Gwinnett County Airport on Friday, but the pilot landed safely, a fire official said.
Firefighters stood by near the runway as the plane approached just before 5 p.m., after the pilot reported the mechanical problem on the twin-engine plane and declared an emergency landing, Gwinnett Fire Department Lt. Thomas Rutledge said. No injuries or damage was reported. Traffic at the airport was interrupted briefly but returned to normal after the plane landed, Rutledge said.More like this story
