•Who: China Anne McClain of Lawrenceville
•Claim to Fame: China Anne, 8, plays Jazmine Payne on "House of Payne." In the show, CJ Payne (Allen Payne) and his family move in with his Uncle Curtis (LaVan Davis) after their house burns down. The sassy Jazmine is CJ's youngest daughter.
The TBS comedy is directed by Tyler Perry, who is known for his character Madea, who appears in stage productions and films such as "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Madea's Family Reunion."
•Family Ties: China Anne is the daughter of Michael and Shontell McClain. She has two sisters, Lauren, 10, and Sierra, 13, and one brother, Gabriel, 6.
•Getting Started: In 2005, China Anne auditioned for "The Gospel" and got the part of Alexis. She was also part of the cast of Tyler Perry's "Daddy's Little Girls," which was released in February.
Last year, "House of Payne" was shown in 10 test markets. The show, which is filmed in Atlanta, will be introduced to national audiences this week.
•A Few Favorite Things: China Anne enjoys spending time with her family. "I like to play outside with my brother and sisters," she said.
She likes to draw and tries to write in her journal every day. Her favorite TV show is "Tom and Jerry." She is a fan of Beyonce and likes watching Steve Martin in "Cheaper by the Dozen."
"He's really funny. I like to laugh a lot," China Anne said.
•What the Future Holds: "I really hope to keep acting for the rest of my life," China Anne said.
Because she loves movies on the Disney Channel, especially "The Cheetah Girls," China Anne hopes to one day star in a Disney movie.
Along with her sisters, China Anne is working on an album with her father, who is a producer. "We want to go on the Disney Channel and do music there," she said.
