Tatum - Johnson

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stanley Tatum of Duluth announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Kay Tatum of Cartersville, to Brandon Johnson of Cartersville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lee Johnson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Adams Chandler Sr. of Doraville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stanley Tatum. She is a 1999 graduate of Duluth High School. She is a 2001 graduate of Young Harris College. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor's degree in international business.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. B.D. Moore of Waycross and the late B.W. Moore, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lee Johnson. He is a 1998 graduate of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe. He is a 2002 graduate of Berry College, where he received a bachelor's degree in communications and literature.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 25 at the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville.

Maddux - Stone

Rodney Maddux of Lilburn and Karen Worlund of Duluth announce the engagement of their daughter, Morgan Elise Maddux of Sarasota, Fla., to Rick Alan Stone Jr. of Sarasota, Fla., son of Rick and Dawn Stone of Lawrenceville.

The bride-elect attended Gwinnett County Schools and received a high school degree as a home-schooled student. She is employed by Victoria's Secret.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Stone of Thomasville, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Karau of Albany. He is a 2001 graduate of Collins Hill High School. He is a 2006 honors graduate of Georgia Tech, where he received degrees in international affairs and management. He is employed by Progressive Glass Technology Industries in Nokomis, Fla.

The wedding is planned for July at the Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion in Florida.

Carter - Palazzo

Michael and Starr Carter of Snellville announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Leigh Carter of Snellville, to Anthony Francis Palazzo of Grayson, son of Mark and Sheila Palazzo of Grayson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Johnny and Harriet Carter of Decatur, and William and Helen Browning of Snellville. She is a graduate of Georgia State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She is employed by Dacula Elementary School as a first-grade teacher.

The future groom is the grandson of Anthony and Deanne Palazzo of St. Augustine, Fla. He is a graduate of Furman University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed by Citigroup Smith Barney.

The wedding is planned for June 23 at Cannon United Methodist Church in Snellville.

Stancel - Duncan

Wayne and Clara Stancel of Dacula announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie Elaine Stancel of Dacula, to Travis Wayne Duncan of Milton, Fla., son of Gary and Pam Duncan of Roswell.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of S.W. Stancel of Buford and the late Omie Lee Stancel, and Edith F. Pharr of Dacula and the late Otis E. Pharr Sr. She is a 2002 graduate of Dacula High School. She is a 2006 graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon. She is employed by Duncan and Company in Roswell as a marketing and administrative assistant.

The future groom is the grandson of Dorothy J. Duncan of Lawrenceville and the late T.W. Duncan Jr., and Hollis and LaVerne Bates of Alpharetta. He is a 2002 graduate of Roswell High School. He is a 2006 graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. He is employed by the Navy as an ensign and based in Milton, Fla.

The wedding is planned for June 16 at Summerall Chapel at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.

Fosse - Thomas

Gary and Susan Fosse of Lawrenceville announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Ann Fosse, to Daniel Stephen Thomas, son of Otis and Ann Thomas of Macon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Barbara McDermott of Lawrenceville, and Alfred and Rita Fosse of Ormond Beach, Fla. She is a graduate of Collins Hill High School. She is a 2003 graduate of Georgia Tech. She is a 2007 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, where she received a doctorate degree in medicine and plans to start her medicine residency at Duke University this month.

The future groom is the grandson of Alberta Warren of Macon, the late Thomas and Charlotte Freeman and the late Ottis Thomas. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia. He is a 2005 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, where he received a doctorate degree in medicine. He is an anesthesiology resident at Duke University.

The wedding is planned for June 22 at the Church of the Hills Presbyterian in Duluth.
