Herbert “Chip” Collins, age 61, of Winder, GA, passed away July 28, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at St. Columbus Episcopal Church with Father Joe Green officiating. Graveside services will be at 2pm Wednesday, August 1 at Elmwood Cemetery, Georgetown. Mr. Collins was born in Conway, SC and was a member of St. Columbus Episcopal Church, Johns Creek. He was a member of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), a member of Chemical Producers of America; a Boy Scout Master, a member of Winyah Indigo Society and was the Senior Manager of Agriculture Chemicals for Stepan Chemical Company in Winder, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Stokes Collins and is survived by his: wife, Mrs. Patricia H. Collins, Winder; sons and daughter-in-laws, Herbert “Bert” Collins II and Marella Collins, Dothan, AL, Robert “Bobby” Collins and Christy Collins, Alpharetta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Collins McAdoo and Frank McAdoo, Woodstock; 7 grandchildren; mother and step father, Mary Louise Staats Collins Doyle and Authar H. Doyle, Georgetown, SC; brothers, Francis Stokes Collins II, Charleston, SC, and David Morgan Collins, Georgetown, SC; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from 10-2pm at Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Columbus Episcopal Church Building Fund, 939 James Burgess Rd., Suwanee, GA 30024.
