Lonnie Lee Roach, Jr., age 82, of Athens, GA and formerly of Loganville, GA passed away on July 24, 2007. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Agnes Jane Roach. Lee and Jane were originally from Mullens, West Virginia and were married on October 15, 1947. He is survived by his daughter, Janie and son-in-law James Lineberger; Granddaughters and Grandsons-in-law, Mandy & Richard Seigler and Beth & Klint Segars; Great Grandchildren, Tyler & Tommy Seigler, Hayley, Kinsey & Blake Segars; Brother, Johnny Roach; Sister, Betty Stowe; Niece, Kate Holland & her husband John Martin; Nieces and Nephews, Jeannie, David, Brenda, Debbie, Martha, Teresa, Terry, Michael, Robyn, Tammy, Lisa and all of their families; Special Caretakers, Cherry Brown, Peggy Williams, Tonia Williams, Vanessa & Freddie Binder. Lee was pre-deceased by his Great Grandson, Tag Seigler, his parents, Lonnie Lee Roach, Sr. & Macie Flara Poe Roach; Brothers, Ray Roach and Everett Roach; Sister, Alice Isabelle Roach; Mother-in-Law, Rita Teree Beane Holland and Brother-in-Law, Frank Holland. Lee was a microbiologist. He owned and operated Lee Laboratories in Grayson, GA and Roach Laboratories in Loganville, GA. He was a charter member of the Mullens High School Hall of Fame, and enjoyed memberships in various national scientific organizations. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the European theater in Germany and France from March 1943 – January 1946. He was awarded a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars in addition to the Good Conduct Medal for his service. He was a Masonic brother for over 50 years and belonged to Naurashank Lodge in Pearl River, NY. He was a long time member of Grayson United Methodist Church. Lee loved his family, fishing, traveling, gardening and working in his lab. A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Grayson United Methodist Church. Dr. Phil Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Grayson, GA.
