SNELLVILLE - Gwinnett police are not ruling out homicide in the case of a 45-year-old Snellville woman found dead in her home Wednesday.
Yasmeen Sayani was discovered by her daughter Wednesday morning in the home the women shared. Investigators have ruled the death suspicious and the cause of death undetermined, said Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney.
"(Sayani) did not die from natural causes," Moloney said. "That's as much detail as I can go into."
Sayani's daughter called police to the Snellville residence about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, where she told investigators she had found her mother in a room deceased.
Investigators are awaiting final test results to determine when Sayani died.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's initial results were inconclusive Thursday afternoon, and further analysis is needed, Moloney said. Test results have been forwarded to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and could take as long as a month to return.
Moloney said the victim's daughter lives at the residence, but he couldn't comment further on the condition of the scene where Sayani was found.
