SUWANEE - Police have started an investigation into the robbery of a Suwanee bank.
Suwanee Police Department Capt. Clyde Byers said police are looking for the man who robbed the Gwinnett Community Bank located at 3463 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road on Monday morning.
According to Suwanee Police Department Lt. Dan Clark, police have video surveillance of the robbery, showing a white man between 35 and 45 years old, approximately 6 to 6 feet 4 inches tall with red, curly hair stuffing money into his pockets.
Byers said the man entered the bank about 9:45 a.m. armed with a handgun and demanding money. The man fled on food toward the back of the bank, Byers said, but it was unknown if the man fled in a vehicle.
"Video ended behind the bank so we don't have a description of a vehicle," Byers said. "But he probably had a vehicle at some point."
Clark said police are unsure if the man is responsible for any other robberies in the area.
"At this time the FBI has the lead in the case, but we will still be working together to solve it," Clark said.
Anyone with information about the man or the robbery can contact Clark at 770-945-8995.
