Vera Druin Pugh, age 96, beloved mother and grandmother and a woman of great faith, joined the Church Triumphant on July 13, 2007. She was born in Sparta, Illinois on June 23, 1911 and moved to Atlanta in 1953. She was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Pugh and her eldest son, Gerald H. Pugh. She is survived by two sons, Stanley E. Hughes of Meadview, Arizona, and Dr. Loren Pugh of Lawrenceville. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Pugh was retired from the Workers' Compensation Board of the State of Georgia. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday School and serving her Lord in community activities. Always willing to lend a hand and be supportive, Vera and her never-ending smile will be greatly missed by her family and church friends! Her service will be held at North Decatur United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 17, at 11 o'clock, with Reverend Steve Thomas officiating. She will be buried at Floral Hills Cemetery following the service.
