Men indicted on murder charges

LAWRENCEVILLE - Three men were indicted Wednesday on murder charges, according to bills of indictment released Thursday.

Malcom Jamal Conner, 17, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of murder and one count felony murder Wednesday for allegedly shooting to death Samuel Hernandez-Ramirez in October 2006.

The indictment also accuses Conner of assaulting Manuel Ibarra Munoz with a handgun, the robbing at gunpoint and assaulting of Hipolito Hernadez-Nunez and Santos Guadalupe Almeda as well as assaulting Jose Magdaleno Almeda-Lopez and Jose Magdaleno Almeda-Lopez in October 2006.

The teen was also indicted on charges of theft by receiving stolen property. According to the bill, Conner "unlawfully retained a firearm" as well as a Honda Accord sometime between Oct. 14 and 31. The bill states Conner should have know the firearm and vehicle were stolen.

Two other men were also indicted on murder charges Wednesday.

Verlon Abbey McPherson, 24, of Conyers and Desmond Anthony Sellers, 22, of Norcross are accused of the stabbing death Demitrius Gomez on April 8 at the Stanford Village Apartments off of Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross.

Gomez was stabbed twice with a knife in the groin and chest in an altercation in a complex parking lot, according to a warrant for the arrest of the men filed in April.

Both men have been charged with one count of murder and one count felony murder and remain at the Gwinnett County Jail.
