Fresh linen tablecloths were spread, the finest champagne was poured and extravagant meals were served, all with the underlying cause of helping Georgia's children. In its 23rd year, the March of Dimes Dining Out event, held June 8, raised $100,000 for Georgia's March of Dimes.
"This event continues to be a success in raising funds and awareness for the March of Dimes mission," said Q100's Bert Weiss, the event chair, in a press release. "The generosity of this community never ceases to amaze me, and I look forward to another successful and fun event next year."
During the event, more than 50 of Atlanta's premier restaurants donated a portion of the nights proceeds to the cause. Following their dinners, participants flocked to the Lotus Lounge for a after-party and auction.
Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes is a national health agency that aims to prevent birth defects, premature births and infant mortality. The organization funds research, education and advocacy to help save babies.

Meals, charitable giving made easy
Every day, Entrees Made Easy answers the question "What's for dinner?" On Saturday, the meal-assembly franchise also answered the query "How can I help?"
To celebrate the opening of its Buford location, Entrees Made Easy held a charity grand opening celebration. Throughout the grand opening, 50 percent of the day's proceeds were donated to Special Needs Schools for Gwinnett, a nonprofit group that provides educational and therapeutic services to families with children with a wide range of disabilities. The schools offer support for special-needs children from toddlers to 12th graders.
Entrees Made Easy is located at 2725 Hamilton Mill Road, suite 1500, Buford. Call 770-932-1207 or visit www.entreesmadeeasy.com.
