HOSCHTON - A Mill Creek High School student was arrested Jan. 24 after a parking security employee spotted a compound bow in the student's vehicle, school system officials said.
Levi Kelly Woody, 18, of Buford was arrested on a charge of possession of a weapon on school property after officials found in his vehicle a baseball bat, a knife with an 8-inch blade and a bow, according to an arrest warrant. The security employee saw the bow as he was giving Woody a citation for parking a vehicle that did not have the proper student parking permits, said Jorge Quintana, the school system's spokesman. Quintana said Woody will face a disciplinary panel and "appropriate disciplinary action." "Regardless of the intent, Gwinnett County Public Schools does not allow weapons on school grounds," Quintana said. Woody was released from the Gwinnett County Detention Center on a $1,200 bond. As a condition of his bond, Woody is to stay off all Gwinnett County school property.More like this story
