WINDER - A Winder man was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual assault against his ex-girlfriend.
Santonio James Peters, 25, turned himself in to police at the Winder Police Department after officers secured 10 arrest warrants against him. Peters was charged with rape, aggravated sodomy, sexual battery, simple battery, simple assault, entering an auto, false imprisonment, kidnapping and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree - which means Peters allegedly committed a crime in the presence of children. The reported attack occurred inside Peters' home about 7:20 a.m. while the children waited outside in the car parked in the driveway. Officer Tracy Bagley said police believe the victim was lured to the residence when Peters told her he had some money to give to her. Peters is being held in the Barrow County Detention Center without bond.More like this story
