Anderson - Mitchell
Amy Elizabeth Anderson and John Todd Mitchell were married on Sept. 30 at The Carlyle House in Norcross. The Rev. Tony Griffin officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. Anderson of Deer Park, Ill. She is a 1996 graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she received a bachelor's degree in sociology and criminal justice. She is a 2005 graduate of American InterContinental University, where she received a master's degree. She is employed with American InterContinental University as a career counselor.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Mitchell of Duluth. He is a 1992 graduate of Western Illinois University, where he received a bachelor's degree in communications. He is employed with Global Equity Lending, WLG Inc. as an operations and licensing specialist.
Karen Alicia Anderson of Atlanta, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Janice Lee Drust of Lawrenceville and Stacey Lynn Speicher of Suwanee. Quinn Reifert served as a flower girl.
Robert Thomas Burns of Evergreen, Colo. served as the groom's best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Tarbell of Mableton and Douglas Lee Carden of West Branch, Iowa. Andrew Speicher and Cameron Speicher served as ring bearers.
After a honeymoon to Maui and Oahu, the couple now resides in Buford.
Bennett - McElroy
Rebecca Lucille Bennett and Jeremiah Alan McElroy were married on Dec. 16 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Gainesville. Dr. William L. Coates officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Glenda Strickland of Toccoa and Samuel and Deborah Bennett of Winter Haven, Fla. She is a 2001 graduate of Stephens County High School in Toccoa. She is attending the University of Georgia's College of Pharmacy and plans to graduate in May.
The groom is the son of Charles and Susan Wilbourn of Grayson and Joseph McElroy of Monticello. He is a 1996 graduate of South Gwinnett High School. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture. He is employed at Day Design Group in Buford.
Jennifer Bennett of Toccoa served as the bride's maid of honor. Lauren Wilbourn of Grayson served as a bridesmaid.
Luke Ferguson of Snellville served as the groom's best man. Cory Mansour of Grayson served as a groomsman.
After a honeymoon to Panama, Costa Rica and Belize, the couple now resides in Braselton.
Harold and Ellen McMillan of Dacula celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on Jan. 20 at the Bridge in Lawrenceville. The couple met at Dacula High School.
Harold served in the Army during World War II. They worked together at the Jenesco shoe manufacturing plant in Lawrenceville. Harold also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Dacula and Rohr Aircraft. After leaving Jenesco, Ellen became a homemaker.
