Basketball kickoff to be held

March of Dimes to hold open house

SUWANEE - The March of Dimes Northeast Division is kicking off its 2007 WalkAmerica campaign with an open house Friday.

The open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2955 Horizon Park Drive, Suite B in Suwanee.

It will give the community a chance to learn more about March of Dimes and its mission to prevent birth defects, prematurity and infant mortality. Individuals and teams can also sign up to participate in WalkAmerica on April 28 at Lake Lanier Islands.

WalkAmerica is March of Dimes' top fundraiser. More than three-quarters of donations go directly to research and education. The Northeast Division serves 15 counties, including Gwinnett.

Theater season tickets available

WINDER - Season tickets are available for the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre.

The season ticket provides four tickets to the Main Stage Shows. They can be used for any show or in any combination.

The tickets are $45 for adults and $35 for seniors (65 and older), teachers and students. Single ticket prices are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, teachers and students.

Park group seeks nominations

ATLANTA - Park Pride is seeking nominations for its 2007 Inspiration Awards.

The awards are intended to increase the visibility of park issues regionally and inspire others to become more active in building a world-class park system in Atlanta.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Feb. 28.

Recipients will be announced during lunch at Park Pride's 2007 Park and Greenspace Conference March 19 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The nomination form is available online at www.parkpride.org.
