Store manager thwarts robber
•STONE MOUNTAIN - The manager of a Stone Mountain Ingles was able to stop a man from robbing the store Monday night.
According to a police report, a white man armed with a handgun entered the store at 650 Rockbridge Road and demanded the manager give him money.
The manager was able to take the gun from the man before the suspect fled.
•STONE MOUNTAIN - Two businesses inside the Kroger Plaza in Stone Mountain were broken into Monday night or Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, the two stores, Miss Priss and Sun Kissed Bodies at 1227 Rockbridge Road, were entered through a broken glass door. A total of more than $200 was taken from both stores.
Nazi dagger stolen from house
•LILBURN - A Lilburn woman told police Wednesday someone stole a World War II Nazi dagger from her home.
According to a police report, the knife was worth nearly $6,000. The homeowner told police the knife was the only item missing from her home. She suspects the person entered her Sequoia Drive home through a window or the basement door.
Drink machine robbed of change
•LOGANVILLE - The manager of a Publix supermarket at 2715 Loganville Highway told police someone broke into a beverage machine inside the store Wednesday and took $50 worth of change.
According to a police report, someone broke the lock to the machine and removed the coin-collecting container.
The manager believed the thief must have been a former drink machine employee or someone who would know the workings of the machine to have removed the money.
Money stolen from hotel
•NORCROSS - The manager of the Amberley Suites at 5885 Oakbrook Parkway told police she is unsure who could have broken into the hotel, stealing nearly $6,000, two lockers and three hand-held radios.
According to a police report, no one was seen taking the items and video surveillance was not available.
