The Fulton County Schools invites you to submit a bid for furnishing any or all items as listed on the proposal forms provided herein for interior work at the Connected Academy in Milton Center.

Sealed Bids will be received subject to the attached terms specified in Section 00200 - Instructions to Bidders, the Operations Division, Contracting Department, The Meadows Operations Center, 5270 Northfield Boulevard, College Park, Georgia 30349. The bid will be received up to 2:30 P.M. local time, as per the Contracting Department time clock, on Friday, January 19, 2007.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. , at The Meadows Operations Center, 5270 Northfield Boulevard, College Park, Georgia 30349.

Bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the lump sum base bid shall accompany each bid. Surety issuing the bid bond shall meet the requirements set forth in Articles 5.10 of the General Conditions. A pre-bid meeting and pre-bid job walk will be held in accordance with Section 00325. The bidder is responsible for ensuring that they have complete Bidding Documents including all Addenda provided by the OWNER, prior to the bid due date.

The City of Buford is soliciting separate sealed bids for the construction of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Sewer Extension, which generally consist of field survey of approximately 6,500 linear feet of proposed sewer route to verify existing grades, right of ways, locations and elevations of existing improvements, preparation of detailed construction drawings by a professional engineer, installation of approximately 6,500 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron sewer lines, 24 manholes, approximately 500 linear of pipe tunneling, one connection to the existing sewer manhole, erosion and sedimentation control measures and other related work.

All Bidders must submit AIA Document A305, Contractor's Qualification Statement, to be evaluated by the Owner and Architect, along with the purchase check prior to being issued plans and specifications. Bidders who do not submit the AIA A305 will be subject to disqualification. The AIA A305 must show the Contractor's ability to complete the Contract in a satisfactory manner on projects of similar scope and complexity. References from past clients and projects must be included and will be verified. As part of the prequalification process, a pre-bid conference will be held on January 23, 2007, at 10:00 AM at the offices of Gwinnett County Public Schools. Attendance is mandatory, and failure to attend the pre-bid conference will result in disqualification.

Any Bidder may be required, at the discretion of the Owner, to furnish evidence satisfactory to the Owner, that the proposed Subcontractors have sufficient means and experience in the types of work called for to assure completion of the Contract in a satisfactory manner.

Any Bidder that is disqualified may respond to the Owner in writing within 20 days of the notice of disqualification as to why the Bidder feels that the disqualification is unfounded. The written appeal from the disqualified Bidder will not change the decision already made on this project. However, a favorable appeal may open the way for the Bidder in question to bid on future Gwinnett County Public School System projects. In any case, the Owner's decisions will be deemed final.

Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the Base Bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum, will be required from the successful Bidder. Each Bidder shall accompany his Bid with a signed certificate from a surety company acceptable to the Owner, stating that such surety will provide the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, with required bonds. Labor and Material Bonds will also be required from the successful Bidder.

A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Subcontract Sum, will be required from the following Subcontractors entering into contracts with the successful Bidder: HVAC/Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Sprinkler, Structural Steel Fabricator, Steel Erector, and Roofing.

The Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor shall be the Gwinnett County Board of Education "Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor." A copy is attached for reference.

Modification and withdrawal of Bids shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids may not be with-drawn for a period of 60 days after date of receipt of Bids.
