One killed, one injured in three-car crash

BUFORD - An accident involving three vehicles resulted in the death of a 22-year-old Buford woman Saturday.

Chylon Marie Gregory of Buford was killed after she failed to stop her van behind a vehicle at a stop sign on Woodward Mill Road around 8:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigations indicate Gregory swerved to miss the stopped Toyota Camry and entered the Satellite Boulevard intersection, colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

Cpl. Darren Moloney, Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman, said the force of the collision between the two cars caused the Camry to be hit as well.

The driver of the Nissan Altima who was traveling east on Satellite Boulevard and was struck when Gregory entered the intersection has been identified as 59-year-old Lydia Vinas of Lawrenceville. She was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center where she remained in critical condition as of press time Monday.

Two die in I-85 accident

LaGRANGE - Investigators in Troup County are working to determine what caused a motor vehicle accident that left two Norcross women dead and another 14 injured Sunday morning.

Jeff Cook, Troup County coroner, said the driver of the van drove off the road into trees alongside Interstate 85 north in LaGrange four miles south of Hogansville.

He said two women were pronounced dead at the scene, seven were transported by ambulance to West Georgia Medical Center, three were flown to Columbus Medical Center and the four were flown to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. The remaining four were not seriously injured.
