LAWRENCEVILLE - Two Central Gwinnett High School students were slightly injured while riding on a school bus Friday morning after an object thrown at the bus broke one window and cracked another, said Jorge Quintana, the school system's spokesman.
The two students, who are girls in the 10th and 11th grades, received lacerations on the face and ear, Quintana said. The students were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released. The school system immediately notified their parents. The school bus was picking up students at 6:54 a.m. in Lawrenceville in the area of Hillcrest Drive and Collins Hill Road when the incident took place, Quintana said. Gwinnett County Schools police and the Lawrenceville Police Department are investigating what caused the windows to break. "Characteristics of the scene indicate the objects could have been rocks," Quintana said. Another school bus came to pick up the other students on the bus and take them to school, Quintana said. There were 42 students on the bus at the time of the incident.More like this story
