Mr. Anthony T. DeSanctis, age 90, of Buford, GA passed away on January 7, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell DeSanctis. Barbara Jean Steadman, 69, of Elijay, Ga. formerly of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed Thursday January 11th, 2007. She was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville for over 30 years, a Graduate of Mercer University with degree in nursing, a retired Registered Nurse with over 40 yrs. of service. Mrs. Steadman is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law: Kay and Herb Sharp of Elijay, Ga., Gloria and Bob Lange of Guyton, Ga., and brother-in-law Bruce Stephens of Greenville, South Carolina, with several loving nieces and nephews also surviving. John Charles Murrow, Sr., 88, of Iowa/Snellville GA, died "peacefully" Thursday, December 8, 2006. John was preceded in death by his son, John Jr. by 2 days and is survived by his daughter, Pam Murrow Stiltjes of Nevada; grandaughters, Amy Dasko & Robin Stiltjes; sister, Hazel Payne, MI; and several nieces and nephews. John joined the navy in 1942 and served in most theaters of war including Italy, Africa, Normandy, etc. He was a WWII vet and loved the American Legion and VFW. He retired from Martin Oil company as their auditor after over 50 years. John was well respected and loved by so many people. He had a heart of gold and a very bright smile that will truly be missed.



Barbara Wanda Gebo, cherished wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother passed on to Heaven on January 9, 2007. According to her wishes, Barbara died in her home surrounded by family. Embracing Hospice and their "angels of mercy", cared for her during her final days. Barbara was born to Polish immigrant parents, Paul and Helen Gemborys, on September 29, 1933, in the small furniture manufacturing city of Gardner, Massachusetts. She was the fourteenth child of fifteen children. She was a devout Catholic, and a member of St. John Neumann Church in Lilburn, Georgia, where she was a member of Hilltoppers Club. During her 73 years on this earth, Barbara lived her life to the fullest. She was an avid reader, involved in politics, loved to garden, and was a talented seamstress. Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years Joseph Francis Gebo of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three children, Mrs. Deborah Fulbright of Toccoa, Georgia, Michael Patrick Gebo of Lilburn, Georgia and John Paul Gebo of Winder, Georgia. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kim Black Gebo of Winder, Georgia and son-in-law, Tony E. Fulbright of Toccoa, Georgia; also, two sisters and six brothers. She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Rory Winsor, Meghan Gebo, Crystal Fulbright, Sade Windsor, Maureen Gebo, Joseph Francis Gebo, II; Abigail Gebo and one great granddaughter, Ava Moseley. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 12:00p.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 801 Tom Smith Road, Lilburn, Georgia. Bernice Gibbs, 73, of Lawrenceville died on January 10, 2007. She was born on November 8, 1933 in Walton Co. to the late Levi Duncan and the late Idell Stinchcomb Duncan. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Billy L. Gibbs. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Joyce Gibbs of Dacula and Mike and Sandra Gibbs of Lawrenceville; sister: Juanita Bullock of Monroe; grandchildren: Tasha Haney, Daniel Gibbs, and Alisha Thomas; great grandchildren: Natalie Haney, Nicole Haney, Chastity Thomas, and Aura Gibbs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 13th at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Crocker and the Rev. Tim Bradley officiating. Mr. Walter Arnold "Wally" Gaston, age 65, of Winder, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, after an extended illness at home. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Stephens County, GA, a son to the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Mary Andrews Gaston. Mr. Gaston was a wonderful father and grandfather, a successful businessman, a man of dignity, pride and a man of his word and he lived his life with integrity and loyalty. He loved spending time and having meals with family and friends and shared many laughs and precious moments in his final days. He loved his farmland, cabin, his two donkeys and all the simple pleasures of life shared with his family and friends. He will be missed by all. He is survived by son and daughter in law, Kip and Alison Gaston of Winder; daughters and sons in law, Terri and Craig Hanson, of Anderson, SC and Jerri and Mike Sims of Dacula; 6 Grandchildren, Seth and Ansley Gaston, Whitney and Zach Hanson, Adam Fisk and Drake Stanifer; his beloved sister and brother in law, Betty and Charles Lowe and family of Pendergrass, as well as many other family members, siblings, nieces and nephews. His cremated remains will lie in state at Statham Baptist Church on Sunday, January 14, 2007 from 1:30pm until 2pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2pm with Rev. Gordon Thornton officiating.
