Men attempt to rob jewelry store

•SNELLVILLE - Police responded to an armed robbery of a Snellville jewelry store Friday after receiving a call from the store's alarm company.

According to a police report, three black men entered Helzberg Diamonds at 1350 Scenic Highway about

8:30 p.m. demanding

diamonds and money.

Employees of the store told police three men, one armed with a gun, ordered them to get down on the floor while the men rummaged through the store for money.

The men fled the store without any money or items after the store manager was able to push a store panic button and security responded to the scene, according to the report.

Employees told police the men shattered a glass jewelry case with a hammer before leaving.

Man robbed

in apartment parking lot

•NORCROSS - A Norcross man told police he was robbed Thursday while walking through the parking lot of his Huntington Village apartment complex at 2460 Windsor Woods Lane.

According to a police report, the victim was approached from behind by two black men, one armed with a knife which he held to the victim's throat while taking his money and false gold belt buckle.

The victim told police the men took his belongings and ran to a nearby apartment.

Residents in a nearby unit were questioned about the men. The women residents told police they knew the men but the two did not live in the complex.

Norcross Shell station robbed

•NORCROSS - A clerk at the Shell gas station at 5476 Jimmy Carter Blvd. told police Thursday two men robbed the store around 10 p.m.

According to the report, two black men armed with guns and wearing ski masks walked into the store demanding money from the register.

The men fled the store after the station clerk handed over the register money.

The clerk told police he believed the men fled in a white Chevrolet pickup truck with an unknown amount of money.
